As you travel, you make sure to check the scent of your surroundings. There appear to be no other foxes living in the territory, and you begin to feel safer as you walk through the suburbs. You keep an eye out, though, just in case.
You start to recognize the shape of the buildings, recalling how you lived there with your family for some time. You all had scattered after the humans found you and you’d never seen them again. You’d made your way to the crowded areas of the city, where there was a constant amount of food and more hiding places.
The space between the houses widens and there are fewer black bins. You pick up your pace, hearing the scurrying of little creatures more distinctly. Besides the noises of prey, you can also hear running water and the rustling of leaves. You’re very thirsty.
